HEBER VALLEY, MIDWAY AND JORDANELLE

Jordanelle and NEIGHBORING COMMUNITIES

Park City’s neighboring communities include the larger Heber/Daniels and Midway/Charleston areas, the agriculturally-rich towns of Kamas, Francis, Woodland, Oakley, Peoa, Coalville, Wanship and Hoytsville, and the subdivisions located around the Jordanelle Reservoir. Heber and Midway are the most developed of these communities while the smaller towns present residents an opportunity for a more rural lifestyle.
Although all of these neighboring communities are located outside of city limits, they certainly remain close to Park City’s recreational opportunities. The three Park City ski resorts are 15-20 minutes away, and Sundance Resort, located near Mt. Timpanogos, is less than an hour down the road. Local trails abound, much to the enjoyment of hikers, horseback riders, mountain bikers and runners. The nearby Uinta mountains feature fantastic backpacking, camping and fishing. There are also numerous golf courses in these various communities.

HEBER AND DANIELS

While the Heber Valley has experienced rapid growth during the past few years, the community has retained its small-town charm, which is highly valued by residents new and old. Recently named of the best resort values by The Wall Street Journal, the Heber Valley is only 15 minutes from Park City. This area features remarkable views of the Timpanogos mountain range and is within close proximity to countless recreational opportunities including fishing, camping, hiking, horseback riding as well as skiing at Deer Valley Resort® via the Jordanelle Express gondola. Residents in the area are equally split between primary and second homeowners. Vacationers enjoy the bountiful scenery and relaxing vibe, while residents also appreciate the affordable housing prices and lower cost of living.

MIDWAY AND CHARLESTON COMMUNITIES

Resting at the base of the Wasatch Mountains is the quaint, Swiss-influenced community of Midway. Famous for its legendary annual Swiss Days celebration held each fall, Midway also hosted several 2002 Winter Olympic events at the Soldier Hollow cross-country track and biathlon range. The area is ripe with golfing opportunities, including Soldier Hollow, Homestead Resort and Wasatch golf courses. Fans of fishing, horseback riding and skiing rejoice in Midway’s copious open space and the easy access to local mountains. Midway is located 15 minutes from Park City and is experiencing consistent growth as a result of new developments. While home prices are slightly higher in Midway than in neighboring Heber, most residents feel that the sense of community is worth the extra premium. Slightly less expensive is Charleston, a small town located on the nearby Deer Creek Reservoir. Many Charleston residents commute to work in Provo, while enjoying a more rural lifestyle.
